The Clydesdale Rocking Horse

This work focuses on oppression and capitalist exploitation within Scotland. I seek to highlight how people, land and resources have been abused through history by the ruling class.

The Clydesdale horse - a symbol of the Scottish workforce – is made into a rocking horse. Reduced to nothing but a toy.
The steel is left untreated on the rocking horse. It is possible to notice the welds getting progressively better and marks left by the vise as the steel was bent. Exposing and making visible the hours of labour and learning which have gone into it.

In September 2017 she was exhibited in the Outwith Festival in Dunfermline.

She is sold to a private owner outside Glasgow.
